How to get started
How do I create or play Budget?
Choose Create → Blind Rank → Budget. Add a title and 25 different options. The grid has five options in each row: £5, £4, £3, £2 and £1 from top to bottom. You can use the loaded fries example and edit it, or build an NBA team, a movie cast or your own theme.
Players choose exactly five different boxes for £15 or less. Pick from any row, including several choices at the same price. Tap a selected box or Remove to refund it. The total and remaining money update as you choose. You may finish with £0 left or money unspent, but cannot go over budget.
Complete to save privately in Profile → Completed challenges. Share your five with costs and money left, publish your result or make your Case. Tell friends which splurge, bargain or swap makes the best five.
How do I create or play De-Vowelled? +
Choose Create → Top 10 → De-Vowelled. Enter a category title and ten full answers; the clues are generated automatically without A, E, I, O, U, spaces or punctuation. Y stays. Players complete all ten answers and lock them in for one point each. Results show the clue, your guess and the correct answer.
How do I create a Fantasy lineup? +
Open Fantasy in Mini games. Choose Starting 11 for football or Starting 5 for basketball, find your club, then search its past and present players. Fill every position and complete your lineup. Your result starts private; publish it to share a card, compare teams and discuss who should start. Drafts can be saved and resumed. Historical player records may have gaps.
How do I sign in or create a profile?
Tap your profile picture, open Settings, then choose Sign in. The first time you sign in, add your display name and interests. Signing in saves your RANKDs to your profile.
How do I create a challenge?
Tap Create +, choose Top 10, Bracket or Blind Rank, then add a title, category and choices. Preview it and publish when it is ready. You can create as a guest; tap I agree — continue when the community guidelines appear before publishing.
How do I create my Top 10 in The Big Questions?
Find The Big Questions on the homepage and choose Movies, TV Shows, Books or Music Singles. Search for your favourites and tap Add. If something is missing, use Can’t find it? Add it manually. Choose ten different entries, then use Up and Down to put them in order.
Tap Save Draft to keep working privately. When you are ready, sign in and choose Publish for Everyone. Your list appears on your profile and in the Big Questions community lists, where others can rate it and make their Case. Open your published result to share it or select Edit My Top 10. Changes stay private until you publish again. Music can include your favourite songs as well as singles.
How do I rank a challenge?
Choose a challenge from Home or Discover and tap Play. Build an ordered Top 10, pick winners head-to-head in a Bracket, or lock each Blind Rank choice before the next one appears.
Where can I find Cases and join a discussion?
Tap Cases in the menu or the homepage Cases counter. You can read Cases from challenges and published results, sort by Latest, Most Discussed or Needs a Reply, then tap Join the discussion. You do not need to complete the game first. Sign in when asked to post a reply on a published result.
How do I create or play In What?
Choose Create → Blind Rank → In What. Add a themed title, such as Movie Characters, TV Detectives or Book Heroes, then enter ten different characters and the movie, TV show or book title each belongs to. Different characters can share the same answer. Players find the game through Mini games → In What or the In What filter in Discover. Type a title beside each character, edit your guesses freely, then tap Lock in my answers. Each correct answer earns 1 point, for a score out of 10. Blank or incorrect guesses score zero. Answers are revealed after submission; capitalisation, accents, spaces and punctuation do not affect matching. An opening “The” is optional.
How do I create or play Keep N Cut?
Choose Create → Blind Rank → Keep N Cut and add exactly ten different options: chocolate bars, NBA players, classic teams or your own theme. Players see the options in a random order, one at a time. Each decision is locked before the next option appears. Keep four and cut six; once a group is full, you must use the other. After saving, see both groups, share your result and Make your Case: who deserved to stay, and who should have been cut? Publish your result to let other players discuss your picks.
How do I create or play Lyrics?
Choose Create → Blind Rank → Lyrics. Give the game a theme, such as 80s Music Lyrics, and add ten short lyric clues and ten different song titles. To play, find Lyrics in Mini games or Discover, enter a song title beside each clue and edit your guesses as often as you like. Tap Lock in my answers to reveal the correct songs and your score out of 10. Blank or incorrect guesses score zero. Capitalisation, accents and punctuation do not matter. An opening “The” is optional. Share your result or challenge a friend!
How do I create or play Pairs?
Choose Create → Bracket → Pairs. Enter four correct pairs and a link for each, with optional alternative wording. Players see eight shuffled answers. Drag the answer boxes into Pair 1–4, or tap an answer then a space. Move or swap boxes freely and write each link beside its pair before locking in. Each correct pair earns 2 points, plus 1 point for its correct link: 12 points maximum. Lock in all four pairs to see your score and the solutions.
How do I create or play Guess Who?
Choose Create → Top 10 → Guess Who. Enter the person’s name, optional accepted names, and at least three clues in order—clubs played for, films starred in or books written. Repeated clues are allowed. Keep the answer out of the title and description! Players see Clue 1 first and can tap Next clue. A correct guess earns two points for every clue remaining, including the current clue—six clues gives 12 points on Clue 1, then 10, 8, 6, 4 or 2. A wrong guess ends the game with zero. RANKD checks the guess and reveals the answer.
How do I play a Decades Blind Rank?
Each historical event happened in a year ending with a different digit from 0 to 9. Events appear one at a time. Work out the year, then lock the event into the slot matching its final digit—for example, 1981 goes in 1 and 2024 goes in 4. Each slot can only be used once. After all ten events, RANKD reveals the years and your score out of 10.
How do I play Degrees?
Go to Home → Mini games → Degrees. RANKD gives you two different actors with a checked route of seven links or fewer. Name an actor who appeared in a film with your starting actor, then keep connecting co-stars until you reach the target. Recorded voice performances count too; a shared credit does not mean the actors filmed together. Each shared film counts as one link; the target must be reached within seven links.
Type an actor’s name and choose a search result to check the connection. RANKD shows the shared film for each accepted step. Any route verified by the film-credit checks counts, not just our prepared solution. Undo lets you change direction; you cannot repeat an actor. Give Up & Reveal ends the attempt as unsolved and shows a prechecked route.
This is an automated game, so there is no Create option. New pairs are offered before replays when available. With TMDB connected, actor searches use its live catalogue and connections use each actor’s full movie credits. You can use actors and films outside our prepared starting catalogue. Known-film hints help identify the right person. RANKD also checks wider Wikidata credits when available. Choose actors from the search results. Source records can be incomplete; a lookup outage does not count as a wrong move. Check Rules & film-credit sources for details. Completed attempts appear in your history; you can publish a result for debate or challenge a friend to the same pair.
How do I play Where in the World?
On the homepage, find Mini games → Where in the World and tap Play a New Map. RANKD randomly chooses one of ten ready-made geography games, giving you an unplayed game first when one is available. These games are curated, so you do not need to use Create.
Read the Top 10 question and its ranking notes. Each turn shows the rank and the country or city to find—for example, #1: Find India. Locate that named place on the map, working from #1 to #10. The map has 16 question-mark markers: ten answers and six decoys. Tap the marker you think matches the named country or city. Every choice locks immediately, and each marker can only be chosen once. Zoom in and drag the map to reach smaller or nearby locations.
After ten picks, you receive one point for correctly locating each named country or city, for a score out of 10, plus the answer review and sources. Even when ranking values are tied, find the specific name shown for that turn. Choose Play Another to try another map; once you have completed all ten games, RANKD offers replays.
How do I make a case?
Open another player’s published result and select Make Your Case. Explain what you would change and why. Challenge the ranking—not the person.
How do I share a challenge?
Complete a challenge, then tap Share. Choose a Story, portrait or square result card, download it or copy the challenge link, and share it with friends.
How do I play Today’s Three?
